Sauve Assigned to Rockland; Chicago AHL Affiliate

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced Wednesday, April 3, that the team has acquired defenseman Wade Redden from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a conditional seventh round draft pick in 2014. The pick becomes a sixth round pick in 2014 if Redden plays in one or more games during the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Bruins also acquired forward Rob Flick from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Max Sauve.
Redden has appeared in 23 games this year with the St. Louis Blues, scoring two goals and three assists with 11 penalty minutes. The 35-year-old blueliner has skated in 1017 NHL games between Ottawa Senators (1995-2008), New York Rangers (2008-2010) and the St. Louis Blues (2012-2013) in his career and has registered 108 goals and 347 assists for 455 points during that span. Redden skated in his 1,000 NHL game on February 7, 2013 against the Detroit Red Wings and is the 10th active defenseman to reach that milestone.
The 6'2", 205-pound native of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan was drafted by the New York Islanders in the first round (second overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He is a former teammate of current Bruins Zdeno Chara and Chris Kelly during his stint with the Senators.
Flick has skated in 51 games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) this season and has registered three goals and two assists with 97 penalty minutes (ranks fifth on the team). The 22-year old centerman has appeared in 96 AHL games, tallying 10 goals and 8 assists with 188 penalty minutes during that span.
Prior to joining the Rockford IceHogs, Flick spent three seasons (2008-2010) with the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors (OHL) where he skated in 181 games and notched 46 goals and 53 assists. Flick also played in 17 games with the Toledo Walleye (EHCL) in 2012, where he potted four goals and six assists with 43 penalty minutes. The forward racked up 393 penalty minutes with Mississauga and led the team in 2010 and 2011 with 157 and 167 penalty minutes, respectively. In 46 playoff OHL playoff games with Mississauga, Flick earned 11 goals and 11 assists for 16 points, while accumulating 92 penalty minutes.
The 6'2", 208-pound native of London, Ontario was drafted in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Sauve has skated in 52 games this year with the Providence Bruins (AHL) and has scored 10 goals and earned 13 assists. In total, Sauve has appeared in 158 games with the P-Bruins and has registered 44 goals and 45 assists. The forward skated in one NHL game with Boston.
The 6'2", 184-pound forward hails from of Tours, France and was drafted in the second round (47th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins.
