The Providence Bruins are proud to announce that Bobby Robins has been named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Providence community during the 2012-13 season.

Robins is always willing to help out in the Providence community and surrounding areas. He is one of the most popular players in franchise history, known for his friendliness towards fans. Every time the Bruins hold a team event for the general public, a community group, or season ticket holders, Robins is always the first one in the door and the last one to leave.

Over the past two seasons with the Bruins, Robins has participated in many community service projects, including school readings, fan-related events, hospital visits, and many more. 
 
Robins is now one of 30 finalists for the AHL's 2012-13 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced by the American Hockey League on Apr. 18.
