Former Providence College Star Signed

The Providence Bruins, entering their 20th season in the American Hockey League, announced today that the club has signed forward Kyle MacKinnon to an AHL contract. Per club policy, the financial terms of these deals will not be disclosed.

MacKinnon, a native of Walnut, California, made his professional debut with Providence on April 1, 2011 against Connecticut. The 6'0", 200-pound center skated in five contests for the P-Bruins, recording three points. He notched his first professional point, an assist on April 2 at Worcester and his first professional goal on April 9 at Springfield.

The 23-year-old is a four-year product of Providence College. As a co-captain in 2010-11, MacKinnon led the Friars in goals scored for the second consecutive year and recorded a career-high 14 goals in 2010-11. He finished his collegiate career with 71 points on 37 goals and 34 assists.
